jody rosen just asserted this forgotten vaudeville megastar was more punk rock than johnny rotten. I think he’s right.

aleister crowley apparently lost his mind over her. try and dig up his review, it is off the chain.

  1. My great-grandmother was Tanguay’s touring dresser. Her name was Helena Bordley Price. I’m looking for more information on Tanguay and if possible on Helena–we’re not sure but we think she might have made those crazy costumes–

  2. Thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to remember this talented woman. She died blind, poor broken and alone miles away from family members in Minnesota, Michigan and Canada. My Grandfather was one of Eva’s younger Uncles. As one of her cousins she never knew, I wish we could have met and shared some history from then and now. She looks like my oldest daughter and oldest aunt. I always wondered where our fiesty nature came from (always thought it was from my French Grandmother) who was a redhead! To whoever keeps this memory alive and for posting so many pictures we would never see –
